Frequently Asked Questions
General & Hub
Level 1 (Fundamentals) is for anyone new to P6 or wanting to formalise self-taught skills. Level 2 (Advanced) is for people who've completed Level 1 or have equivalent hands-on P6 experience, and covers advanced configuration, resource tools, and schedule analysis. If you're not sure which fits, get in touch and we'll point you in the right direction.
No - our Level 1 course assumes no prior experience. If you've used P6 before but haven't touched it in a while, our Refresher Course may be a better, faster fit than repeating Level 1 from scratch.
Level 1 is a 2-day course. Level 2 is also a 2-day course, run separately. Both are delivered in our Perth classroom, live online across Australia, or in-house at your workplace for groups of 5 or more.
Yes. We deliver in-house training for groups of 5+ in any Australian capital city or regional WA, tailored to your organisation's projects and scheduling standards.
For public Level 1 or Level 2 dates, you can secure your spot directly from the course page. For in-house or group training, get in touch with your team size and location and we'll put together a tailored quote.
Yes, every participant receives a formal Certificate of Completion, useful for your professional profile or compliance records.
Level 1 - Fundamentals
No. Level 1 is built for complete beginners - no pre-requisites required. You'll build a full project schedule from scratch by the end of day two.
You'll be able to navigate the P6 interface, build a WBS, add activities and relationships, assign resources, set a baseline, and produce progress reports on a real-world case study.
Yes. It's designed for project planners, schedulers, project managers, site engineers, contract administrators, and graduates alike.
Not for classroom sessions - we provide pre-configured laptops with P6 installed. For live online sessions, you don't need to install anything either - we give you remote access to one of our laptops with P6 already set up.
Level 2 - Advanced
Yes - Level 2 requires completed Level 1 training or equivalent working experience with P6, so the group can move straight into advanced material without revisiting the basics.
Level 2 covers system configuration, Excel import/export, the Global Change tool, custom resource curves, stacked histograms, and Float Path analysis - tools used for complex, multi-project scheduling rather than single-project basics.
Experienced planners and schedulers, PMO professionals needing advanced reporting, and engineers managing complex, multi-project portfolios.
Yes, equivalent hands-on P6 experience meets the pre-requisite - formal Level 1 completion isn't mandatory if you can demonstrate that experience.
No setup required on your end. Classroom participants use our pre-configured laptops with P6 installed, and if you're joining live online, we provide remote access to a laptop that already has P6 ready to go.
Refresher Course
The Refresher assumes you've used P6 before and just need to rebuild confidence and fill specific gaps - not relearn everything from the start. It's shorter, more targeted, and built around your actual gaps rather than a fixed curriculum.
Session length and cost depend on your background and focus areas - after a quick chat about your experience and needs, we build a session scoped to you. Get in touch for a tailored quote.
Yes, that's exactly who this is for. If you've used P6 before (even just Level 1 training) but it's been 6+ months, the Refresher is built for you.
Both - the Refresher can be delivered one-on-one, in a small group, or in-house for a team, whichever suits you.
